I love Sproul, so I figured I'd post my all-time top 10 quotes from him.
10. Every sin is an act of cosmic treason, a futile attempt to dethrone God in His sovereign authority.
9. Most Christian’s solute the sovereignty of God but believe in the sovereignty of man.
8. They are in fact, womb-mates. (Speaking of Jacob and Esau in Romans 9)
7. In a universe governed by God there are no chance events. Indeed, there is no such thing as chance. Chance does not exist. It is merely a word we use to describe mathematical possibilities. But chance itself has no power because it has no being. Chance is not an entity that can influence reality. Chance is not a thing. It is nothing!
6. If you’re not accountable in life that means ultimately that your life doesn’t count.
5. But, how do we get water from a well? Do we woo it? Do we stand at the top of the well and cry, ‘Here, water, water, water’?
4. If there is one maverick molecule in all the universe, then God is not sovereign. And if God is not sovereign, He is not God.
3. I think Arminianism is death to Christianity!
2. And I say to the humanist with all cynicism, if I come from nothing, if I’m going to nothing, I am nothing, and why should I care who sits on the front of the bus or on the back of the bus? What do I care if its white germs or black germs that have rights in this world?
1."When people tell me that they don’t believe in predestination I’m going to grab them by the throat and say, 'Why not! The Bible TEACHES IT!'

Very good Damian.
Sproul has that Pittsburgh charm -- that shop-floor worker pragmatism. And then he has a brain that falls on things like an anvil falling on Wyle E Coyote.
Best. Apologist. Ever.
I have to agree quite a bit here. Sproul may get a bad wrap on a lot of things, but he balances grace, conviction, and charm in such a way that we need 100 more like him. Love the guy. Always will.
Yeah, the big guy does have a tendency to get some flack. However I've not found another as solid as he is, theologically, apologetically, and didactically.
I recognized every.single.one!
And they are among my favorites as well!
Great! These are some of my favorites as well.
I don't know if he said it originally, but "we aren't sinners because we sin - we sin because we're sinners" is one of my favorites. Plus, it's the only RC Sproul line I know of quoted in a movie - The Addiction (a movie about vampires and philosophy).
Hed, I don't recall Sproul saying that, but I have no doubt he did. I do remember Adrian Rogers saying that a few times. He was the first "preacher" to introduce me to Protestant theology.
very nice.
These are great! I went looking for some more like these on Google. Now I wish I hadn't. Stumbled across a bunch of quotes by his son R.C. Jr. Sheesh! The apple sure fell far from the tree. At least I hope it did.
Words Of Wit With R.C. Sproul Jr.
loved #5 it has always stuck with me that when drew me to himself he did it as I was screaming and kicking. He does it against my will, he doesn't woo me.
Sproul...what a blessing to be have been exposed to his teachings.
Great quotes. I recognized all but #6.
Jesus Girl, "what a blessing" indeed. FYI, he's my pastor. He's currently preaching through Matthew. I'm using France's commentary to prepare for his sermons.
Stan, I believe #6 is from part 4 of his Blueprint for Thinking series.
As to number 5, I would like to offer the words of man who wrote beautifully and even embodied an answer to Sproul's question. You may read his words here:
